Greetings from Thomasville City Schools! I am Tabatha Taylor, a senior at THS. I would like to introduce myself as a new writer for April’s Insider Report. I have attended Thomasville City Schools since the first grade and plan to graduate from Thomasville High School this upcoming school year. I have had two years experience in journalism as a member of the yearbook staff. Last year I was sports editore and I plan to continue my studies in journalism after graduating from Thomasville by attending Auburn University. I look forward to writing for April my last year at Thomasville. As most people know, the 2006-2007 school year will begin Thursday, August 10th. Parents should know that there have been few changes made for this year. When students return to school Thursday, they will be able to wear not only khaki, but also black pants. This is the only major change in the dress code. Students are to be reminded that all shirts must be tucked in at all times, and are solid maroon or white with NO logos. The high school would like to recoginze several new members to their staff this upcoming year. Dr. clayton, the new principal at THS, introduced new staff members to students last Monday and Tuesday at the high school’s orientation. Mr. Bradley has accepted the position as the new agriculture teacher, Ms. Larrimore will be teaching many of the business classes offered at THS, and will also be coaching this years cheerleading squad, and Mr. Phillips will be directing the Marching Tiger Band, as well as the concert band and guitar classes. Students can also sxpect to see some new faces in the office including Ms. Lindsy, the new counselor, Ms. Hare, who will be taking Ms. Woods position, and last but not least, Dr. Adkison who will be taking Mr. Speeds place as the new superintendent. The High school will also welcome a new Language arts teacher to take Ms. DeLisa Brand’s position in the near future. All teachers, new and returning, are expecting an exciting school year and are anxious to get the school year started. Until next week, God Bless!!
